About Norfolk and Waveney Mind
Norfolk and Waveney Mind’s aim is to ensure that no one has to face poor mental health alone and with the right support and resources anybody can create a life that feels meaningful.
We really do appreciate our supporters taking on physical challenges in aid of our charity and we are delighted to be partnering with Walking4Norfolk to bring this exciting virtual walking challenge to our supporters. The funds raised will help us to ensure that anyone in Norfolk and Waveney experiencing mental ill health gets support and respect, especially at this time when people may be needing our help more than ever.
Services that rely on funding from the generosity of our supporters include our suicide bereavement and prevention support services. Fundraising also pays for our gardening for wellbeing projects as well as our music groups, art groups and social drop-ins for people who may be struggling with social isolation. It also helps us to develop new services in line with the needs of the people living in Norfolk and Waveney.
Norfolk and Waveney Mind are busier than ever, 60% of adults and young people who did not experience poor mental health before the pandemic are now experiencing mental health issues. The supporters taking part in this challenge are helping us to be there for everyone who needs us at this crucial time, whilst also helping us to raise awareness.
Challenges like this also provide a great opportunity for participants and charities to come together. They provide opportunities for teams to train together, to build a sense of community and forge friendships and bonds that last long way beyond the challenge itself.
