The Blossom Charity’s charitable purpose is to support people in the East Anglia region who are wanting to make changes in their lives which leads to long lasting change and difference. They work with women and men who face personal, financial, location and other barriers and offer them opportunities to build their confidence and skills; to be the best they can be.
Justine Johnston, team member supporting The Blossom Charity, writes:
When I mentioned this challenge the Dream On/Blossom team were all very quick to say yes – they all have dogs (except me) so I suspect their companions will be getting extra walks during this challenge! Amanda and Clare are also keen tandem cyclists (see Random Tandem on Facebook). Dream On CIC is a shop in Eye that sells clothing & accessories where you can have makeover days and coaching and exists to support The Blossom Charity.
The Hare and the Tortoise
Just in case you’re wondering the reason for the team names – there will be an Art Trail in Eye during the summer called The Way Forward and there will be lots of hares and tortoises dotted around the town. There was a small trail last year which is where our lovely hare and tortoise pictures come from.
Apparently a group of tortoises are called a creep – so we have two teams, one tortoise and one hare (that’s where the leap comes into it!) – the money we raise doing this walk will go towards sponsoring a sculpture which will then be sold at an auction in September! Our sculpture is going to be a hare and will be called Freedom (if we raise enough we may sponsor a tortoise too!!)
